PRODUCERS
Artistic Director Rebecca Weiss recently directed The Revenger’s Tragedy in SWP’s Tragislasher Series and Othello in SWP’s White Wife Series. She has worked as a performer with HERE Arts, Theater for the New City, LABA Live, Underling Productions, and more. She holds a B.A. from the University of Rochester.
Development Director Isabelle is from Westchester, NY. A founding member of SWP, she holds a Bachelors degree in Theatre and Political Science from Skidmore College. She studied with the SITI Company and the British American Drama Academy in London. Marketing and PR Director Hannah Hammel is a New York City native who is now based in Philadelphia. She is a founding member of Spicy Witch Productions and graduated from Haverford College in 2012 with a BA in English. Recent credits include Tricia in Dog Sees God (Truth Be Told, PA), Fair Witch in Dark of the Moon (Ritz Theatre, NJ), Lady Dainty Fidget in The Country Wife (SWP), and Bianca in Othello and Desdemona: A Play About a Handkerchief (SWP).
Programming Director Phoebe Brooks is an actor and director originally from Yonkers, NY. She holds a BA in Theater and in English Literature from Northwestern University. She has performed with Adirondack Shakespeare Company, EMIT, Exquisite Corpse, Cradle Theater and Pipeline. She has directed multiple productions for SWP as well as independent projects including "Dance Telephone: Area Code 718" and Isaac Allen Miller's "Big Bad Little Bad."
COMPANY MEMBERS
Resident Stage Manager Frances Swanson grew up just outside of Boston. She holds a BA from the University of Rochester with credits at various regional theaters in Western NY and MA before moving to NYC and joining SWP! She is thrilled to be joining as their resident stage manager.
Advisory Board Emily is a Brooklyn-based freelance scenic artist originally from Emmaus, PA. She has a BA in Theatre from Middlebury College & an Artisan Certificate in Scenic Painting from Boston University. She has worked with companies including Des Moines Metro Opera, Infinite Scenic, Goodspeed Opera, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Irish Repertory Theatre, & Showman Fabricators. ASSOCIATED ARTISTS
Resident Lighting Designer Yi-Chung Chen, originally from Taiwan, holds an MFA from Boston University in Lighting Design. She is currently working as Lighting Supervisor at Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company and constantly designing lights for play, dance, and opera. This is her 4th season with Spicy Witch. www.yichungchen.com
Resident Props Master Megan McQueeney is originally from Eagle, Colorado and has a BA in Theater Arts from Drake University. She is currently living in Huntington, New York and is working as a freelance technician throughout the New York area. She has recently done work with The Mac-Haydn Theater, The Gateway Playhouse, and The Westchester Broadway Theater. She is happy to working with Spicy Witch Productions as their resident props master.
